Raspberry Flavour Apple Jam

Raspberry flavour apple jam is a fruit spread made primarily from apples and sugar, with added flavourings to mimic raspberry. The apples are cooked down with sugar and pectin, then raspberry flavouring is incorporated to enhance the taste and aroma. It is a common alternative to traditional fruit jams.

Manufacturers add raspberry flavour apple jam as a sweetener and flavour enhancer in a variety of sweet foods. Its sweet, fruity profile makes it a popular filling or topping for baked goods like biscuits, cakes, and pastries. It is also used in yoghurts and desserts.

Raspberry flavour apple jam is not a regulated food additive and does not have an E-number. Its primary components are fruit (apples), sugar, and flavourings. The health implications are mainly related to its sugar content. The UK's Eatwell Guide advises limiting foods high in sugar. The NHS recommends reducing intake of free sugars, which should not exceed 5% of total dietary energy.
